• The digital X ray used at Grand Medical Centre provides a high-resolution image at minimal dosage exposure to the patient. We also have the facility for electronic transfer of images from one to another location through Picture archiving and communication system (PACS).
• How should I prepare
  Let us know if you are pregnant or might be pregnant. In case you have had a barium contrast study including the barium enema, upper GI series, or barium swallow within the last 4 days, the test may be delayed unless the contrast fully passes out. You will have to remove all jewelry that you may be wearing and asked to put on a gown provided by us while conducting x-ray as the metal might affect the images and lead to repeat studies

Ultrasonography (USG)

• The most advanced ultrasound platforms around the globe are used to Grand Medical Centre to push the boundaries for imaging in conventional radiology, vascular and OB/GYN imaging.
• In addition to regular USGs, all kinds of Doppler Studies are undertaken at Grand Medical Centre and conducted by a highly specialized team of Radiologists throughout the week.
• How should I prepare?
  Be on 10 to 12 hours of fasting. i.e. please have your dinner the previous night by 9.00 pm. Do not consume any food or fluid after that. Water can be consumed.
• Have plenty of water (4 to 5 glasses) one hour prior to the health check up. Please note that a full bladder is required for the USG.
• Do not pass urine after water consumption until your USG is not over.

Grand Medical Centre uses a state-of-the-art machine for rapid acquisition and high-resolution image display, with lots of flexibility. If you are looking for more accurate measurements, then Anatomic M mode is available. This helps provide accurate measurements for chambers, walls and ejection fraction, which makes it easier to keep the M-mode line perpendicular to its anatomy. It’s abnormally shaped with positioned hearts.

TDI or Tissue Doppler Imaging includes color TDI is used to assess the timing and the direction of the myocardial function and pulse wave TDI for velocity mapping for vessel wall motion and cardiac tissue.

How should I prepare?

Wear loose clothes. There are no specific restrictions or preparation prior to the 2D Doppler echocardiogram.

Holter Monitoring and Analysis

A Holter Monitor is a battery-operated portable device that measures and records your heart activity (ECG) for 24 to 48 hours continuously depending on the requirement. Electrodes shall be attached to your body along with the device.

What to expect during Holter monitoring?

A well-trained technician will attach this monitor and tell you how it will record your symptoms when you are wearing it. The electrodes are attached to your chest. You will be asked to shave your chest before the electrodes are attached firmly.

Continue with your daily activities while you wear the Holter Monitor. While wearing the monitor, you should refrain from bathing, swimming and showering. Do not undergo x-rays during the testing. You must try and stay away from high voltage areas, powerful magnets and metal detectors.

ENDOSCOPY

Upper gastrointestinal (GI) Endoscopy

This procedure uses a lightweight and flexible endoscope to see the upper GI tract consisting of the esophagus, duodenum and stomach.

Points to remember:

You should not eat or drink 4 to 8 hours before this procedure. Refrain from chewing gum or smoking. If you have any medical condition and are on any medication, please inform the doctor accordingly. Before we perform the GI endoscopy, we will provide the patient with some local anesthetic to numb the throat.
